This thread with David and myself occurred in HackerNoon's official #techsupport channel. Today I learned:

One of these fonts is not like the other - that's a new one (chrome/desktop http://hackernoon.com)

there are a bunch of errors in vercel functions over the last couple days, looking into that now

hm clicking the story refreshes the page

since they are funky characters the slugifier made the slug empty

the missing slug was causing errors that prevented the front page from updating..wonder what a good solution here would be. emojis are still fun to have in titles
